Cycle Momentum: Strategic Partner of Climate Solutions Prize

As a strategic partner of the Climate Solutions Prize for the second consecutive year, Cycle Momentum is proud to have leveraged its global ecosystem and expertise to bring key actors, speakers, and jury members to Quebec. This further enabled our mission to identify, attract, and evaluate high-potential startups in the climate tech market.

During the 2-day event, Cycle Momentum’s team members actively participated in crucial panel discussions. Our CEO, Patrick Gagné, served as the co-host for the festival, while Christine Forget, SVP of Strategy & Partnerships, was a speaker on the “Open Innovation in Blue Tech” panel, and Jennifer MacDonald, SVP of Investment, moderated a panel and shared insights on “Early Stage Climate Tech Funding”.

For a second year, Cycle Momentum proudly supported innovative start-ups through the 2024 Quebec Start-up Track award. This year, we are happy to congratulate two female-founded start-ups, Dispersa as the winner of the Climate Solutions Prize Quebec – Startup in Pre-Commercialisation Stage, and Agapyo as the winner for Startup in the Commercialisation phase and $150,000 each in the form of equity investment through Cycle Momentum’s Origo program, contingent on due diligence and approval. Shoutout to Nivatha Balendra, CEO of Dispersa, and Monika Rak, Technical Lead of Agapyo, for delivering impressive presentations to our discerning juries. Additionally, our partner, BDC’s Thrive Lab for Women, whose mission is to support women-led businesses seeking to achieve positive social outcomes, is matching our investments in these start-ups.

Apart from the pre-selected top 20 startups, we operated an Open Pitch competition on the first day of the Festival, during which any start-up had the opportunity to pitch their solutions to our judges. Congratulations to Phoenix Impact, the winner of the Public Choice Award and a prize of $10,000, and Bauxite (Michael Di Mare) for winning the Jury Award and a prize of $25,000!
